Cosmania. or Cosmania Lab as they state on their website/webshop. A lab were you can smell and feel all the products they sell online.
They carry affordable and special international cosmetic brands that can’t be found anywhere else in The Netherlands, in a very pleasant environment.
Nailpolish and lipstick in the shape of pencils from Laqa&Co: Handy Pandy!!
The dining room, with a menu that’s bound by one philosophy: Simple, healthy, delicious dishes created with well-sourced and seasonal ingredients. The All in one-carpet is designed by Studio Droog.

The interior seems simple as well at first glance, but au contraire, it’s design galore! Stove/kitchen by Weltevree.
The restaurant has the most beautiful aquarium we have ever seen!!
Fabulous Dusk/dawn mirror by Minale-Maeda (Like the carpet; for sale downstairs at the Droog design store)
Fairy tale garden, designed by French Designers Claude Pasquer and Corinne Détroyat. It reminded us of a TeleTubbies decor a bit, ’cause of the neat, green paths and candy coloured ornaments. It’s a very happy garden we must say.

We forgot to photograph the space of designers Weltevree at Droog, only because they had their axe chair on display, we never saw that one in the flesh. This chair is a fascinating design: made from Scandinavian axes with a solid steel seating, painted in pastel colours. It weighs a ton!

We also forgot to visit the hotel room…next time.

“Hôtel Droog is a place where you can come for a drink, a bite to eat, exclusive shopping, exhibitions, beauty advice, a stroll in the garden, a lecture series, or even a bed for the night. Featuring the Droog Store, Gallery, Dining Room, Fairy Tale Garden, Beauty at Cosmania, Fashion at Kabinet, Products at Weltevree, and the one and only Bedroom, Hôtel Droog is conspicuously housed in 700 square metres in a 17th century building, promising to be a new cultural home in the heart of Amsterdam.”

“The concept of a hotel has been reversed. Whereas a hotel is usually mostly about sleeping, here we have enlarged and emphasized all the aspects that many hotels also offer and made them central to the hotel experience—and it even has a room to sleep in,” says Renny Ramakers, co-founder and director of Droog. “Hotel Droog brings all of our activities under one roof—from curation to product design, exhibitions and lectures—and invites people to plug in as they choose.” Quoted from the press release.

Let's make some conversation! xoxo Mimi Berlin
