Project Monsoon

Project Monsoon

D&DAD and Pantone teamed up for New Blood Awards 2015; The briefing was; Reimagine your hometown through the language of colour. The Creative Team of Seunghoon Shin, Yoonshin Kim, Nu Ri Kim, students from School of the Art Institute of Chicago, tutored by James Lee, came up with a concept called Project Monsoon. They made colorful illustrations/graphic designs which will appear on some streets in Seoul when it rains, using hydrochromic paint (a special formula which changes from transparent to opaque when it gets wet)

D&AD’s new blood award is a series of world class programmes for new creatives. We aim to reach young creatives from as far and wide as possible to offer inspiration, learning and genuine breaks on the way into industry. Industry standard briefs set by global brands are taken on by students, recent graduates and under 24s around the world.

“Since 1962, D&AD has been inspiring a community of creative thinkers by celebrating and stimulating the finest in design and advertising. A D&AD Award is recognised globally as the ultimate creative accolade, entered and attended by the best from around the world.

But it’s much more than just awards. Members join a vibrant global community, whilst creatives and clients are inspired by a world-class Training programme.

As a non-profit, all of D&AD’s surpluses go straight into programmes such as New Blood, that inspire the next generation of creative talent and stimulate the creative industry to work towards a fairer more sustainable future.”

Let's make some conversation! xoxo Mimi Berlin
