Advertising: Lavazza in your Face

The Lavazza Ad Campaign in Milan.

During Milan Design Week 2018 we were constantly confronted by Lavazza. We drank the actual coffee; at the Lavazza Tiny Bar by Toiletpaper in the Santa Teresa Library at the Brera design district, and at other locations. While drinking we were of course confronted by the merchandise itself and also; all across Milan city we saw the larger-than-life posters; many of them.

target-group

It has been a long time since we’ve felt we were in target-group. It used to happen all the time when we were younger, but nowadays there’s not so much stuff we have to buy, according to marketeers. (except for medicine and stair-lifts) But; since we are very interested in coffee, fun design and lipstick, our brains submitted itself to the Lavazza-advertisment-wave. The campaign irritated the heck out of us, but at the same time we know this is good advertising. #lovebeingplayedbymarketing #influencers

Lavazza x ToiletPaper

The campaign is all about the “Tiny Toiletpaper Limited Lipsticks Edition” a coffee machine with a print by Toiletpaper (Maurizio Cattelan and Pierpaolo Ferrari) on it. Available in several colors but unfortunately without the face (see in the image above), “Oh My Pop” that’s a shame!

PS
We, at Mimi Berlin, drink percolated espresso coffee: we don’t own a modern coffee machine.

Let's make some conversation! xoxo Mimi Berlin
