Happy World Animal Day

World Animal Day!

Thahanks to Mr Twan Janssen who reminded us of World Animal Day by updating his facebook coverphoto. Janssen used an ‘oldie but goodie’; a still from the Mimi Berlin’s Fashion-Fest #8 Movie. The dog with the partyhat is his dog, her name is Lou. Congratulations to Lou and all the animals in the world!

Puck en Hans Made in Holland The Movie

Puck en Hans

Mimi Berlin Blogger Team went to the premiere of the Dutch fashion documentary ‘Puck en Hans – Made in Holland’ at the Stadsschouwburg Utrecht during the Dutch Film Festival of 2019. The film is about fashion-duo Puck Kroon and Hans Kemmink and it is directed by Peter Wingender.

Dutch fashion-icons

Wingender followed these Dutch fashion-icons for a year during the preparatons of their retrospective exhibition in the Amsterdam Museum in 2017. The couple started their first boutique in 1969 and the film takes us from that year all the way through to the 1990s. Alongside lovely archive material and interviews with, next to Puck en Hans, Viktor and Rolf and Frans Ankoné (to name a few) we get to know about some important Dutch fashion-history, in a fun and realistic way.

From the 3rd of October the documentary can be seen in a theatre near you. Don’t worry; the film is subtitled in English. In the fall of 2019 the documentary will be on TV in ‘Close Up’ by co-producers AVROTROS.
