Last Saturday (17/9/2011) we were so lucky to be invited to join the Dutch National Ballet reunion of the group’s former members. These pioneers came together from all over the world.
It was quite an unique experience for us. Seeing so many dancers meeting each other again, after sometimes fifty years. It was a beautiful thing to see. It’s also amazing to watch a theater full of people with the same body “language”: straight backs, turned out feet, but more important, that of determined, disciplined and passionate characters.
We were in awe. Remember everybody is retired, I guess the youngest (ex-)dancer/proffessor cannot be younger than 65 years of age(?). Everybody has such a great physique, these are obviously not average people. As the night progressed they became more at ease with each other, and you could really tell they were proper family.
