The Coppertone girl (the blond illustrated one in pigtails) was introduced in 1959, her blue knickers are pulled by a black Cocker Spaniel.
“Don’t be a paleface!” was the slogan of Coppertone.
Joyce Ballantyne Brand was the illustrator of the Coppertone Girl, which was also her daughter.
