“The exhibition curated by Lidewij Edelkoort at the Spazio Gianfranco Ferré, via Pontaccio 21, showcases a selection of textile design projects. “Textiles talk to us,” (hence the exhibition title, Talking Textiles) – explains Edelkoort – “and we must talk about textiles because word-of-mouth can bring them into our homes.” We are witnessing a full-on textile tsunami, a surge from the past because textiles disappeared from our interiors in the 1970s with the advent of plastics. On display is a wide selection of designs applying innovative techniques to the processing of textiles, in works by Christine Meindertsma, Inga Sempé, Hella Jongerius and David Lynch, among others.
