The fifth season of this popular tv series has begun, in fact we have just seen episode 8. With 5 more episodes to go we are looking forward filling the gap waiting for season 6 with some merchandise.

We just read the New York Times: Mattel is licensing rights to the characters from Lionsgate, the studio that produces “Mad Men” for the AMC cable channel. There will be 7,000 to 10,000 copies of each doll, to be sold in specialty stores and on two Web sites, amctv.com and barbiecollector.com

The dolls haven’t got any resemblance to the actors, but they have a vintage, sixties feel to them. Very tasteful, in our opinion.(via)

Not new, au contraire, but the opportunity to mad men yourself is renewed every new season so you can update your avatar.

Mad Men Mug (and much more)

Meanwhile, on the High-end side of life: Jaeger-LeCoultre launched watches (grande reverso ultra thin) in a limited edition of 25 pieces, engraved with the Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce logo, available from Feb 2012.
“The story (behind the merchandise-MB) is that the watch is a gift from Roger Sterling to his longtime employees. Each owner gets a letter with his own name on top, and the date on the letter will be a date between Feb. 1 and Feb. 25, 1966, a different date for each of the 25 watches, because Season Five takes place in 1967. Even the marketing for the watch strives for authenticity: the publicity photos shown here were shot on the “Mad Men” set, in Roger Sterling’s office. ” (via)
