At the opening of the Seletti store in Amsterdam
Mimi Berlin Blogger Team visited the opening of the Seletti Flagship Store Amsterdam just about a month ago. Seletti is an Italian furniture design brand known for it’s pop-culture-inspired products which bring humour and quality into your home. The store is situated in the Runstraat at number 22, that’s near the Prinsengracht. It’s hard to miss because the shopwindow boosts an overwhelming and very colorful tableaux-vivant.

Designer Shopwindow
In the shopwindow there’s a set-up of a complete, imaginary sidewalk-café made with designs by ‘Blow’. ‘Blow’ is the sub-brand that’s created by Dutch design Studio Job and Seletti in 2017. (@blowunofficial) Studio Job’s designers Job Smeets and Nynke Tynagel were part of this setting during the opening on November 8. They were signing products under the pink ‘Streetlamp Floor’. How fun!
More Important Collaborations
The store in Amsterdam carries more than only designs by ‘Blow’. Other well known collaborations, with a.o. Maurizio Cattelan’s and Pierpaolo Ferrari’s ‘Toiletpaper‘ brand and with the designer ‘Marcantonio‘, are for sale. In the back of the store you immediately will notice the furniture, carpet, mirrors and what have you not, designed by ‘Toiletpaper’. The downstairs space is dedicated to the work of Marcantonio. In this room lighting designs, mainly in white, are on display. Make sure you visit the store, it’s a joy to the eye and we are sure that you will find something nice to decorate your home with.
Seletti History
Don’t be fooled by the quirky and young image of Seletti. Like many Italian brands this company also has the family tradition in it’s DNA. The company is founded in 1964 by Papa Seletti. In those early days he started working with Chinese manufactures and gathered valuable production knowledge, which is still an asset for the brand nowadays. The current creative laboratory and designer team; Selab, is founded in 1988 by siblings Stefano and Maria Seletti, Vittorio Boni and Studio Badini.
