Edoardo Tresoldi’s Mesh Buildings

Mesh Buildings

Edoardo Tresoldi creates “public space interventions” by building with mesh, in metal. Tresoldi also makes birds and people with mesh but we, at Mimi Berlin, prefer these huge and useless buildings. Up to today the largest house Edoardo built was for the 2018 Coachella Musics and Arts Festival in California, it’s named ‘Etherea’.

‘Etherea’ and ‘Sacral’ by Eduardo Tresoldi. ‘Home Within Home Within Home Within Home Within Home’ by Do Ho Suh.

Transparency

These works remind us of Do-Ho Suh’s sculptures, which are made in fabric but are equally transparent. Also, both artsists explore how to create houses and interiors. It would be nice to see their work in one place, don’t you think?

Edoardo Tresoldi

“Edoardo Tresoldi plays with the transparency of mesh and with industrial materials to transcend the time-space dimension and narrate a dialogue between Art and World, a visual summary which reveals itself in the fade-out of physical limitations.
Mixing classical and modern language, he generates a third one, strongly contemporary.” (read more/img via edoardotresoldi.com)

ThisArtFair 2018 Amsterdam

ThisArtFair

Mimi Blogger Team went to visit the preview of ‘ThisArtFair’ at the Beurs van Berlage in the citycenter of Amsterdam.

Without a gallery

‘ThisArtFair’ is an annual art fair held at the end of December. Special thing about this fair is the fact that it’s set up for artists to exhibit without a gallery. There are some gallery booths present, so the concept isn’t that strict. Come to think of it, nothing seems ‘strict’ at this fair; which is fun.

Milan Design Week 2018 Cubism

Cubism in Interior Design

Next to many round and friendly interior design we also noticed some cubist inspired decor. Not that much, but we feel it could well be the next trend. It almost has to be, because all the ‘Barbapapa’ furniture design you can think of has already been made, for a couple of seasons, by all brands at this point.

These four are the most evident examples of design, leaning towards Cubist shapes: Carpet from Moroso/ Mural by Siri Carlén for Lammhults / Motorcycle Samotracia Mario Trimarchi for De Castelli / Mirror from ClassiCon.
