The Boat is Leaking The Captain Lied The Exhibition

The Boat is Leaking The Captain Lied The Exhibition

Is a long title for the transmedia exhibition project by Alexander Kluge, Thomas Demand, Anna Viebrock and curator Udo Kittelmann. The Boat is Leaking. The Captain Lied. is situated in Ca’ Corner della Regina, the 18th century Palazzo which houses Fondazione Prada in Venice. Having such a wonderful backdrop must have been very inspiring for the artists; we feel this installation (built throughout the 3 floors of the palazzo) was custom made. It is, as always, hard for us to write about art because we feel you have to experience it for yourself. But we will try: because we think this exhibition was lovely, and that fact needs to be shared!

We are no art critics, just art lovers and furthermore we are basic art-consumers: We love to just watch and let our minds go free (intuition) and enjoy. This is one of the reasons we liked this exhibition (and then some, at the Venice Biennale) The Boat is Leaking. The Captain Lied is divided into several rooms, or spaces and settings. Walking through the installations we felt like explorers: being curious about what’s next. The artists also made sure that you were part of the backstage situation. All together: pure instant gratification. Find out what you should know about The Boat is Leaking. The Captain Lied. HERE at the FP site.
