Viktor and Rolf

The garments are wonderful and so are the installations and dolls! In a nutshell: Why don’t you visit the exhibition which celebrates Viktor and Rolf‘s 25th anniversary in fashion at the Kunsthal in Rotterdam!? Visit our YouTube Channel for some video’s we made.

While you are in Rotterdam make sure you pass by the Hyperrealism Sculpture exhibition as well!

Dutch Brand pols potten celebrates it’s 30th Anniversary

Dutch Brand pols potten celebrates it’s 30th Anniversary

Mimi Berlin joined the party to celebrate, and take partysnaps for WOTH Wonderful Things Magazine. Founding editor of WOTH magazine, Mary Hessing, got commisioned to make the book ‘Family of Things’; 30 years pols potten, which was launched at the party as well. Taking snaps at this event was our little congratulaions present to her. More reason to celebrate was the introduction of the new Gervasioni Collection to the store with furniture designed by, amongst others, Paola Navone and Patricia Urquiola. So, if you need to decorate your home any time soon we suggest you visit the pols potten shop in Amsterdam to see some Italian design.

Although you can’t see it on the images above the place was packed; see more snaps taken at this event HERE

Xuly Bët

Do you remember Xuly Bët? The fashion label Xuly Bët by Lamine Badian Kouyaté was a HOT label back in the ninetees of the previous century. The recycling of clothes was the hottest thing happening back then, imagine: Wall Street (the movie) was very mainstream. The Xuly Bët collection has been awarded with the Creator of the Year award by the New York Times in 1994 and received the ANDAM award in 1996. The collection was also a part of the Africa 2005 exhibit at the Victoria and Albert Museum. Xuly Bet’s clothes also reminded us of the work by artist Jean-Michel Basquiat.

Today you can buy the Xuly Bet collection online but it has a different vibe now, it seems a bit cheap and uninteresting (That same kind of change that happened to our once favorite brand Fiorruci) (Images courtesy of the Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology)
