Cubism in Interior Design

Next to many round and friendly interior design we also noticed some cubist inspired decor. Not that much, but we feel it could well be the next trend. It almost has to be, because all the ‘Barbapapa’ furniture design you can think of has already been made, for a couple of seasons, by all brands at this point.

These four are the most evident examples of design, leaning towards Cubist shapes: Carpet from Moroso/ Mural by Siri Carlén for Lammhults / Motorcycle Samotracia Mario Trimarchi for De Castelli / Mirror from ClassiCon.

The Carpet interiors by Farid Rasulov are installations and digital prints of entirely upholstered rooms in which he stages animals in white. We, at Mimi Berlin, think they are wonderful. We would transform our house into Rasulov’s Carpet Interiors but we dont own a vacuum cleaner: so that’s a no go, period. Showcasing their designs in a spectaculair presentation during Fuorisalone 2015 at the via Savona 56 in the Tortona area; 21 settings were unfold in a combination of 9 home environments, emphasized by 39 artistic photographs, with a towering height of 4.5 meters, made by Rahi Rezvani as backdrop.
