Fiorucci Fashion is Back

Fiorucci is back. The fashion brand, named after it’s founder Elio Fiorucci, is seriously open for business again. After 2 decades of offering cheaply produced licensed garments, they now (Feb 2019) have a collaboration capsule-collection with Adidas in a store near you.

Working with Adidas gets a brand some kind of standing, they don’t collaborate with just any brand or designer. Well known designers such as Raf Simons, Stella McCartney, and Jeremy Scott (who now is the art-director at Moschino) are collaborating with Adidas, so Fiorucci is in good company. #AdidasOriginalsByFiorucci offers limited editions of streetwear, trainers and accessories carrying the signature fun-discotheque-vibe of the brand.

Relaunch

Fiorucci was relaunched In 2017 when the ‘eighties-revival’ was at its peak. A smart move also was publishing the Fiorucci (history) book alongside. (Rizzoli ISBN100847860159) Introduction to the brand was also done by the first campaign for that summer-season, shot by Josh Wilks with Georgia May Jagger (daughter of Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall) in the the main role. The new team re-created the old Fiorucci vibe and images. (more info to be found on fiorucci.com)

Mrs Jack x Agent Mimi x Mimi Berlin

Mrs Jack x Mimi Berlin x Agent Mimi

Many moons ago we created a collection of eggcups: ‘Eierbecher/Eggcups Prototypes’
This project was the start of what would evolve into us, at Mimi Berlin, seriously creating all kinds of unique objects and stattuettes with stories attached to them. (see those at mimimall.me) Anyways, back to the topic of this blogpost.Mrs Jack, a small company which offers sustainable, ready-set trays and tablescapes, has used one of these ‘Eierbecher/Egggcups Prototypes’ for a  breakfast in bed tray-scape. Its the ‘Qualy’ eggcup from the ‘White’ series, set next to a marvelous coffeepot designed by Lutz Rabold, what an honour!

Milan Designweek 2018 Japan Creative ABCD Elements

ABCD Elements

‘Japan Creative’ (JC for short) has 3 new projects on show in Milan during Designweek 2018. The one we really like, is named JC21 a.k.a. the ABCD Elements. These soft seaters are the result of the collaboration between Japanese craftsman TAKEYARI and British designer Faye Toogood. Not only is this design very stunning, it is also a sustainable one, ànd witty! There is a 70’s feel to them, but it isn’t overpowering; the ABCD Elements are designs which have the easy-going and friendly vibe from the 1970s. At least that’s how we, at Mimi Berlin, feel about this design.

These stunning seaters, or cushions, can be seen until the 22nd of April, 2018 at Palazzo Litta on the Corso Magenta 24 in Milan.
