fashion Fall 2014: White Swan

Fairy Tales on the runway for f/w 2014: Dolce and Gabanna and the white Swan

Earlier we noticed that birds, all kinds, is the animal du jour on the runway for the Fall 2014 season. Well we do love swans so above another example of what a fashion designer can do with that bird…..

Fashion Tale F/W 2014: Oversized Comfort

We earlier found out that larger silhouettes, in combination with dazzle stripes are a “thing” for Fall 2014. Comfortable silhouettes are also shown without the bold color blocking. These humongous over-sized body unconscious silhouettes are just plain comfortable and are made even more snugglier by using soft and friendly materials.

Fashion Tale F/W 2014: Bird watching

The Birds

Feathers are the main styling device for the designers, mixed with fur, wovens or knits, any idea you come up with for using feathers; just do it! Same goes for prints and allovers; birds, ranging from spring chickens to the peacock, all kinds of bird-varieties passed at the the fall 2014 shows.

The Bird Watchers

The bird watchers have to keep warm, for Fall 2014 they sure will, again lots of fur, styled more casual though. Combined with sturdy leather, preppy wooden buttons, or wearing a wax/rain-coat-feel outfit

The Snakes

The bird watchers have to watch out for the snakes lurking in the grass. Snake skin in bold colurs was often used this season, above at Tom Ford, Dsquared2 and Giorgio Armani. Snakeskin in transparent voile at Givenchy (and other brands as well)

The color chart is an obvious one: an Autumn scheme with fresher touches of yellow. “Forest” Green and similar neutrals are important, next to more vivid colors (as special accents for use  in snake skin items for example)

Fashion Fairy Tale F/W 2014: Glamour Dreams

“Obsessed by a fairy tale, we spend our lives searching for a magic door and a lost kingdom of peace.” ~Eugene O’Neill (Fairy Tale image editing by Beja von Bis)

Fashion Fairy Tale F/W 2014: Glamour Dreams

A new kind of glamour, a combination of shimmering, girly, sex, fairy tales, romance and sci-fi. Lots of white with pastels  and skin colors for a romantic touch. At the Marc Jacobs show ruffles (ruffles were also a key devise at the Marni show and at Guy Laroche at Lanvin) at Watanabe) and transparency were combined with retro sixties sci-fi, make sure to click that link, it’s a very interesting show. Fashion Fairy Tale F/W 2014: Officially Licensed

Fashion Fairy Tale f/w 2014; Snow White at Red Valentino in Milan.

Walt Disney’s Snow White as a fashion theme at Red Valentino. Or should we call this small collection just Disney merchandise? Yes we will, because that’s what it is. While we’re at it let’s buy that funny I-phone decal by Disney as well! We’ll put our phone in the Moschino/McDonalds/Chanel purse, (designed by Jeremy Scott for his first collection for  Moschino.) It all will match wonderfully with the SpongeBob Squarepants coat (most likely officially licensed as well), also from Moschino.  We would if we were 20 years younger, maybe.

Fashion Fairy Tale F/W 2014: Little Red Riding Hood

Fashion Fairy Tales F/W 2014: Little Red Riding Hood

Fashion Fairy Tales: Little Red Riding Hood. Yes! it’s time for dreams again at the Fashion Shows for Winter 2014. Little Red Riding Hood is stomping through the woods, not only wearing her cape. No, this season she owns more than just a cape, she’s wearing the killed bloody wolf on her shoulders as well! Coats and dresses made of red fur sure make do as really fancy showstoppers! Prints and patches of wolves, squirrels, birds, forests and the actual Little Red Riding Hood story are placed on her wardrobe as well.

On the catwalk at Miu Miu Little Red Riding Hood was portrayed in a more modern way.   Teenage girls on the road, could be in a forest, could be elsewhere, but this fierce girl is not going home!  She is on a mission or otherwise just walkin’ the streets. (We picked out the red outfits amongst the other primary colors and pastels to give our story more credibility. See the complete show HERE on style.com)

As for the color red: We suggest to the people in the industry to stick with accessories in red fur, knit and jersey or a little dress. (assuming you want to $ell)
