Hacked Store at the Temporary Fashion Museum

Hacked Store at the Temporary Fashion Museum

The garments by label Van Slobbe Van Benthum were launched earlier, in June 2015, as Hacked 1.0, in a pop-up (or hacked) store at Hotel Droog in Amsterdam.

During the, previously opened Temporary Fashion exhibition at the Nieuwe Instituut in Rotterdam, Dutch fashion designers Alexander van Slobbe and Francisco van Benthum again “hacked” (are on exhibit) a space; the second floor of the museum. The duo created the Hacked Store to explain and comment on the fashion industry and to explore a new way to position themselves and fashion designers in general, in this fast, commercial industry. The base of the Van Slobbe Van Benthum collection is the over-production of garments. They give new life to these “left-overs” (T-Shirts, bags etc.) by altering them. The VSVB designs, for men and women, can be bought at the “Hacked Store” as well. If you are a fan of these designers we suggest you go hop hop hop to the Hacked Shop.

Please read the photographed texts above, it contains more specific information than our nut-shell story does.
