Fish Figurines Toys for Girls

Fish Figurines

New! Fish figurines by Mimi Berlin. Toys for Girls from the Bagatelle series.
Below we present: “Used Fish” and ‘Fish Lamp 3’! These fish figurines, well actually they are whales, are based on our classic Fish Lamp in black. The ‘Used fish’ and the ‘Fish lamp 3’ are assembled with hard-plastic (second hand found, early plastics, tupperware, rubber and a led-light.) The tails are made of pressed glass. Both figurines are unique and signed pieces.

Important Bagatelles

At first glance the ‘Important Bagatelles de Mimi Berlin‘ seem like unpretentious objects, fast compositions and even trifle maybe. That’s all true; the statuettes are light in style and come with a very mellow character, they are bagatelles. Why are they ‘Important Bagatelles’ we hear you ask. Well: the important part lies in the fact that the sculptures are carefully made as a source of stimulation. First the stimulation of the basic human senses. Then you are supposed to glide into a state of body awareness which is, ideally, lust.

Mother Nature

‘Toys for Girls’ is dedicated to Mother Nature; no natural materials whatsoever are used. We try to clean-up the globe by using discarded plastic and glass. And we like to keep things positive in the age of the ‘plastic soup’. So, we celebrate the inventions of early-plastics like bakelite and celluloid, Also by finding the beauty in perspex, rubber, and other non-biodegradable plastics. But only in so-called “feminine” pastel colors. Remember, this series of statuettes is dedicated to Mother Nature, not Father Nature.

Hard Plastic Renwal Dolls

Renwal Dolls

Renwal dolls, they look so creepy, don’t they? But at the same time they are SO pretty as well! The photography, by ForgetMeNotVintage; the shop on etsy which sells these vintage dolls, is truly outstanding. The pink doll is neatly placed on a chair, and we can see that she sits in a wallpapered room, the yellow child is also portrayed in a masterly way. We, at Mimi Berlin, don’t want the dolls, we want these photo’s! #auchhaben

Early plastics

Dolls from Renwal toys. above, in pink is the mother, the sister is yellow. Below, in white, are the Renwal Veterinarian Doctor and Nurse Doll, they all belong in a dollhouse and are really small in size. The figures are produced by the American Renwal company from 1945 untill the late 1950s. (Click HERE for an extra read on older and early plastics dollhouses)
