Milan Design Week 2018: Life in Vogue

#LifeInVogue

Vogue Italia Magazine has opened it’s doors to the public during Milan Designweek 2018; for the occassion of introducing the newest issue of Casa Vogue. Emanuele Farneti, editor-in-chief, invited 8 designers and architects to re-design or re-think if you will, the offices of the editorial staff rooms at VogueIT. The #LifeInVogue project is “A reflection on the way of living [in} the contemporary office”

Tourguide

Since the official tourguide didn’t speak English, Mimi got te private tour by a very kind man. We had in-depth conversations about the designs and the magazine. Not so much; the tourguide was actually from security. Quote; “this is also an interesting lamp” and you’ll hear lot’s of WOW and REALLY from Mimi. But our confidence level is high enough; we will share the short clips with you. Have fun watching them!

More video’s made at the Vogue Italia office’s during the tour can be found on Mimi Berlin’s YouTube Channel

Life in Vogue at the Condé-Nast offices in Milan can be visited from 12:00 to 8:00 PM until the 20th of April, 2018.

A short clip by and for Mimi Berlin’s Friends and Families, a self-group portrait: posing on the couch. The portrayed are all creative minds from The Netherlands. In daily life they try to make the world a prettier place by creating and sharing (mostly behind the scenes) in the fields of art, music, design, theater, illustration, photography, jewellry, perfume and food, and by just having fun in general. Party in a Color Haze by Cody Choi

Party in a Color Haze by Cody Choi

Korean artist Cody Choi created an installation named Color Haze. We, at Mmi Berlin, saw it at the Venice Biennale in 2017, and it brightened our day, nee: our week (and maybe this entire month)

Unfortunately we had a shitty camera; but you get the idea, hopefully.

TV 70: Francesco Vezzoli guarda la Rai at Fondazione Prada, Milan

TV 70: Francesco Vezzoli guarda la Rai

Artist Francesco Vezzoli made an installation about the role of television in Italy (RAI) in the 1970s. Rai is Italy’s national broadcasting company, and was the number one mass communication form in the seventies. Mr Vezzoli shows that this was groundbreaking tv, or at least television in Italy was showing how the seventies were, historically seen, an important decade. We, at Mimi Berlin, took a stroll through this impressive exhibition and filmed it for yous….’cause just images aren’t enough to visually explain what this installation is about. But, as always when it comes to art exhibitions, you have to see it for yourself. And if you are interested in the, almost extinct, medium of television you should certainly visit this exhibition.

Gerrit Rietveld Academie The Fashion Show 2017

Gerrit Rietveld Academie The Fashion Show 2017

It’s that season of the year again. Fashion design graduates get to showcase their work in the shape of a fashion show. Mimi Blogger Team split up to see Amsterdam’s Gerrit Rietveld Academie show both live, on the spot and via the livestream somewhere else.

Above our images, taken live at the show, which was held outdoors between the concrete pillars of a section of the A10 Amsterdam city ring highway overpass, near the WOW complex in the Bos en Lommer district. Backstage was also an interesting place: the models were covered in plastic bags, to be shielded from rain and nudity we guess. It was an added bonus for us; seeiing the designs amongst non-model-normally-dressed-people. (see more HERE)
