Woth Store, The Hague

During the Design Quarter The Hague festival Woth (Week only treasure hunt) store will open it’s doors. These are the doors of a private residence in the van Galenstraat 34 in The Hague. It’s not just any private residence, it is the home of the chief editor of the dutch interior magazines EH&I and MTC Living and her family. They live in a stunning old milk factory in the center of the city

Mary Hessing and her husband Toon Lauwen were inspired by stores like Merci, Corso Como 10 and Spazio Rossana Orlandi and created the WOTH Week Only Treasure Hunt. This department store for a week (16-21st of May) will be filled with the best design and art objects they could find. They created several spaces in their home and placed the products in color schemes in a lovely way. The courtyard of this home is transformed into a little restaurant, foo and drinks are served and made by Haagse Hapjes.

gem_kingdom_x_mimi_berlin_fish_im_wasserNext to the Mimi Berlin’s collaboration with the Gem Kingdom ” Ich Will Ein Fisch Im Wasser Sein” objects and our History of Circus Legends, carpets by Hella Jongerius for Danskina, furniture of Marcel Wanders, Front, Atelier van Lieshout, Osvaldo Borsani, Bertjan Pot, Jaime Hayon, Nika Zupanc, Piet Hein Eek, Studio Job and Maarten Baas. Make sure when in The Hague to visit this pop-up store it’s certainly worth a visit!

Frame Store Amsterdam

The Frame Store Amsterdam at Felix & Foam in the Felix Meritis building at the Keizersgracht 324 (next to the Beren straat) opened it’s doors a month ago. It is the store of Frame Magazine in the form of a small department store which carries high-end interior and fashion design including a selection of books and art. Brands such as & Tradition, Vitra, Moooi, John Smedley Avelon and Youasme are sold at this store.  The Felix & Foam initiative is worth a visit even if you hate shopping because you can also have lunch or coffee at the Foyer restaurant or visit one of the exhibitions or just visit the stunning Felix Meritis building.

Felix &Foam is a new, temporary (April 2014-Oct 2014) initiative of Foam in collaboration with Frame and restaurant Foyer, in the imposing Felix Meritis building in Amsterdam.

YOUASME MEASYOU Collection Fall-Winter 2014

We got an invitation from our friends at YOUASME-MEASYOU which we would like to share with you

Hi! We are Mark and Twan,

In 2010 we started the World’s First Crowdfunded Fashion brand: YOUASME MEASYOU. We want to realise a closer connection between our designs and you, to be inclusive rather than exclusive.

This is expressed through the designs of our refined knitwear and jersey labels MEASYOU (men) and YOUASME (women).

Our aim is to slow down the speed at which we consume, choosing more aware for better quality and long lasting design.

In order to raise funding for the production of our 7th. collection for Fall/Winter 2014-2015 we now return to the community.

We made a whole list of perks for you to choose from so hopefully you’ll be able to support us.

We would really appreciate it!

Thank you!!

Mark & Twan

We, at Mimi Berlin, will be visiting the YOUASME-MEASYOU new collection presentation at the Frame Store at the Keizersgracht 324 in Amsterdam (saturday May 10, 13:00-18:00)

Vous etes Ici Youasme

Vous etes Ici Youasme. According to Mimi Berlin’s December Calender we should have visited the youasme measyou Fancy Pop-Up Store at The Guesthouse of Gallery Vous Etes Ici in Amsterdam last week. We didn’t, we could’t make it last weekend, but yesterday we finally went.

Of course we’d already seen the Winter knitwear collection 2013 by Youasme but were surprised by new work! In honour of this Pop-Up store they made assemblies; new designs made with garments from previous collections: Pret-à-Portér recycled into Couture! Yes, these pieces are made by hand! We always have been a big fan of Youasme and these garments are, again, really to die for! (and, no, we are not biased) Since Gallery Vous etes Ici is an art gallery, we also saw “The Multiple Show #3”. Artworks in an edition of 5, by several artists. These works, friendly priced up to € 2.000,00, also helped to make our afternoon more than enjoyable. Please read the captions below the pictures for more detailed information about all the lovely work we got to see.

Gallery VOUS ETES ICI, Ms. van Riemsdijkweg 41A Amsterdam-Noord (Pontje to Buikslotermeer >1/2 minute walk) The Multiple Show #3 and the Pop-Up-Shop can be visited until December 22, 2013. Open: Wednesday – Sunday 12.00-18.00 hours and on request.
