Sephora Barcelona

Sephora Barcelona

The Sephora Store in Barcelona is really, really nice: the entrance on street-level is the MOST entertaining! Red escalators, an opportunity to entrance the store via a slide (not on film) abstract movies projected everywhere, many mirrors, cute boys and loud music!

Mimi Berlin Visited Aalsmeer

Mimi Berlin Visited Aalsmeer

On a very Misty and Grey day, in typical Dutch weather, Club H.o.p. and Mimi Berlin decided to visit Aalsmeer. Situated in this small town, near Schiphol Amsterdam, is the largest trading centre for plants and flowers in the world. The flower auction is open to the public on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 07.00 to 11.00, and on Thursdays, from 07.00 to 09.00 (Royal Flora Holland). There are many colorful flowers to be seen, in bulk! But outside of the buildings there isn’t so much color to be found.

Nice to know: The Aalsmeer Flower Auction building is the second-largest building by footprint in the world, covering 518,000 square metres.

How to Preserve Nail Polish

How to preserve Nail Polish: Maybe you can relate to the following: You’ve spent maybe one hour of your precious time getting your nails done. Like you know you should do it: Two layers, waiting between layers for a minimum of ten minutes. Then the drying: Touching nothing for at least 15 minutes. But then, as you go outside to parade these little beauties: BAM, a schratch on the shiny surface of your fingertips! How do you preserve the color and keep the polish free from scratches? Mimi Berlin dove into finding the answer to this question. Well, not really, but we did find a 7 (SEVEN) step tutorial for yous at Wiki how. Seven steps is too much for us at Mimi Berlin, so we’ll just live with those ugly scratches….

Mail from Ulrike: The Poor Man’s Bias Cut & Sew

Mail from Ulrike. To be more precise: snail mail from Ulrike Träge. Since Mimi Berlin has no money/no cent/no dime/nada/noppes, our dear Ulrike showed us the crisis sewing pattern technique for making new clothes during hard times. A couple of years ago she invented a re-cycling technique called; The Poor Man’s Bias Cut & Sew. Only applicable when all your clothes are totally worn out, or if you gained or lost tons of weight! Otherwise the best advice is of course to not cut up your clothes so you can save up energy for other useful things: Like to make money by selling homegrown young plants or your old magazines.

Anyway, for us the time has come. We are going to have to use The Poor Man’s Bias Cut & Sew technique on all of our Dries van Noten clothes. NO, not The van Noten’s! we hear you scream. Yes, we have to, they are made from the most durable quality of fabric we own, we answer, whispering with a trembling voice, to your question. Keep you posted! xoxo Mimi
