This Art Fair Amsterdam 2016

This Art Fair Amsterdam 2016

At This Art Fair artists show and sell their work without a gallery. (There are also some gallery booths to be found but they are a minority at This Art Fair.) About 120 Dutch artists present their work at the Beurs van Berlage. The artists come up with their own presentation and are present themselves; that’s what makes This Art Fair worth your time. If you are a frequent visitor of art fairs, galleries and what have you not, you’ll soon find out that it’s quite a different experience, more personal, like a ‘studio visit’.

If you haven’t much time and rather have your art-pitch in a nutshell then this art fair probably won’t be your cup of tea. On the other hand; The Beurs van Berlage is worth a visit in it’s own right of course. 29/30-12-2016 open from 1 PM until 10 PM. Galleries at the Amsterdam Art Fair 2015

Amsterdam has a new art fair; The Amsterdam Art Fair, which was opened yesterday by Beatrice Ruf, director of the Stedelijk Museum. The Amsterdam Art Fair houses a selection of 40 galleries, according to AAF, representing the best of the Dutch contemporary art market. We, at Mimi Berlin, must agree, we had a great time! The fair is situated at the Kunsthal Citroën, located in the former Citroën garage/showroom, built in 1931 and designed by Jan Wils, at the Stadionplein in Amsterdam. The interior of the building is left untouched, Downstairs, in the actual garage, the remnants of the car workshop are beautifully incorporated in the sculpture exhibition. The galleries are presenting upstairs in the former, white and clean, car showroom. That’s were we took the snaps above; tables and chairs; or how to present your printed matter. (stay tuned for more posts later on this blog) Yes, we also took Party Snaps. ‘Cause we know you like that!! The fair will be open from May 27th until and including May 31st 2015 Wednesday 27 May from 5 pm – 9 pm Thursday 28 – Saturday 30 May from 11 am – 7 pm Sunday 31 May from 11 am – 5 pm Entrance; €10,- Continue reading
