It’s time for everyone to go to London. If there was anytime to start saving up for a trip to London town, it’s now. The grand, the fabulous, the illustrious fashion house of Alexander McQueen comes with an exhibition at the Victoria & Albert Museum. After the overwhelming succes of the same exhibition in New York City in 2011, it’s now time for us Europeans to gawk at the ‘Savage Beauty’ of the late Alexander McQueen.

ITGWO is a small and fabulous festival on the island of Vlieland. One the five big islands north of the country and if I may say the most beautiful of them all. The fun already begins with the journey as you need to take a boat from Harlingen to the island. Once there everyone scatters around the island to build their tents. Now, I’m not a fan of happy camping or even happy campers, so I’m pleased to say there are a lot of opportunities for you to not sleep in a tent. Hotels and hostels and tent houses are in abundance. The festival itself is divided in three areas on the island and can hold 6000 festival goers . Not a lot and that is perfect for those who do not like huge crowds. Continue reading

Rüpert von Rom: Bond, James Bond

Rüpert von Rom: Bond, James Bond

If there is one Brit personifying chique and dapper it’s Bond, James Bond. Now, at the fabulous Rem Koolhaas building de Kunsthal in Rotterdam, a wonderful exhibition of probably the most famous British movie character of all time, 007, is on display. Designing 007: Fifty Years of Bond Style is basically a celebration of the impact Mr. Bond had on art, music, fashion, technology, travel and lifestyle. The exhibition is obviously a fashionable trip down memory lane. It really takes you back in the days when you were eating potato chips in front of the television watching the new Bond movie.
If the expo isn’t enough for the fans, de Kunsthal organizes cocktails parties on Friday 28th November and Friday 30th January. Remember; keep it chique. So no ‘shaken, not stirred’ jokes on the dance floor.
