“Alexander McQueen” (may he rest in peace) shows us the history of rock in England

Glam Rock at Jean Paul Gaultier and Viktor and Rolf

Fifties in the eighties Punky at Neil Barrett Skinhead at Lanvin

The DSquared2 Boyband

Seventies in the present; Bohemian rock (or whatchamacallit) at Ann Demeulmeester, Balmain, Vivienne Westwood and John Varvatos

Minimalism, maximum colour: fashionfix Winter 2011

After all the refreshing, uncompromizing use of colour from last season (jil sander etc.)a more wearable colour trend was to be expected. This season it’s a stiff, heavy look with, drop-waisted, sixties influences. Coats, 2 piece (skirt) suits and dresses are the main vehicles for this trend.
