Yellow Robot Girl is the title of this plastic doll, she doubles as a music box. By pulling the yellow bead on the bottom of her body, between her legs, a musicbox will be playing a tune.
We, at Mimi Berlin understand fully that this plastic doll will look great in a nursery, but: this is not a toy and the robot girl can’t be operated by children!

Continue readingThe title of this plastic doll is; You can’t sit with us. Why, you ask of us at Mimi Berlin? Well, obviously this doll is holding two chairs; one for her friend Elise and one for herself. We know she keeps a chair for Elise because of the tune she’s able to play. By pulling the thingy on the bottom of her body, between her legs, a musicbox will be playing Beethoven’s Bagatelle nr. 25 in a-minor, WoO 59, commonly known as Für Elise
The Kitty Necklace is a design by Mimi Berlin Bijoux created with salvaged materials: plastic and silver. The plastic beads were discarded by a child at one point and the silver chain is gifted to us by Kitty, it’s an attic treasure. The silver lockets and our little logo-tag are new.
Mimi Berlin Bijoux decided to use the decorative silver ‘Haferkorn” chain to string the plastic beads and delicious food-charms together into a necklace suitable for adults. Presenting these beads, and in particular the lovely, detailed charms, in the way they should be presented: with respect with precious metal.

We, at Mimi Berlin, have been away from our blog for over a year. we need to update you, our readers, on what we’ve been up to all this time. Well, amongst other things, and in a nutshell; we created faces.
All these faces are contstructed with plastic. Discarded plastic, early plastics….from Tupperware to…..well, everything but the kitchen sink.

The Pacifier Music Doll Face is a part of the ‘Important Bagatelles‘ series, made only with discarded (early) plastics and, in this case metal, by Mimi Berlin. The ojects are visibly assembled and each product we used is still identifiable.
